About Our Priorities

Limestone University is grateful for the generosity of its alumni and friends who are making an investment in our students through “The Next 175” fundraising campaign. With that philanthropy, we can meet the needs of current and future students. Your gifts will inspire future donors to invest in creating opportunities and addressing challenges, positioning Limestone as a regional leader in higher education now and for generations to come.

When Limestone became a university in 2020, it celebrated its status as the University of Choice in South Carolina and turned Limestone’s focus from stability to transformation.  Our donors’ willingness to support the University will ensure Limestone can meet the challenge of providing current and future students a traditional liberal arts education in an environment that adapts and changes to meet the needs of a modern institution. The three priorities below are a part of Limestone’s overall strategic plan.

Academic Programs

Develop academic programs and support services to create outcomes that matter.
The profile of a typical college student has changed dramatically over the past few years.  No longer does the typical student come to college straight from high school, attend classes full-time, and live on campus.  In fact, only 37 percent of Limestone students are of traditional college age while 27 percent of the University’s student population is 35 years of age or older.  With the financial support to combine traditional teaching with digital technology, provide comprehensive support services, and implement student-focused operations, Limestone will ensure the success of all students, no matter their age or background.  More about this priority.

Endowment Growth Through Scholarships

Foster an academically excellent, inclusive intellectual community.
Without scholarship assistance, many students have trouble financing their education.  At Limestone, 98 percent of our students receive financial aid.  Because Limestone is committed to providing a high-quality, affordable education, the University requires a substantial endowment to keep pace with the growing financial need of today’s top students.  More about this priority.

Facility Improvements & Campus Beautification

Build a campus that welcomes and supports both students and the community.
Extensive renovations to current facilities and ongoing beautification projects will create modern, community-minded spaces to attract a wide variety of students.  To ensure Limestone’s campus is its most effective recruiting tool, financial donations to facility enhancements will enable the University to develop the spaces needed to educate and support students.  More about this priority.
