An Old Space, Reimagined

The relocation of the library to the Hines & Riggins Center makes way for a renovation of the Eastwood building to support the Health Professions academic programs.

Outstanding health care providers may receive letters from grateful patients, commendations from physicians, and favorable marks on patient satisfaction surveys, but it’s compassion that inspires students pursuing a healthcare profession to learn to care for people in need.  Limestone’s new Health Professions academic programs are designed to help students ensure they receive the necessary education and training to turn that compassion into practice.

Limestone University’s new Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program recognizes the medical field’s desire to hire Bachelor’s-educated registered nurses. Students can also pursue a traditional pre-licensure nursing program enabling them to complete the nursing curriculum during their four years at Limestone.

The University’s new program provides a flexible and affordable pathway for RNs to build upon previously acquired knowledge while simultaneously completing their undergraduate education in only 2 years.

In addition to these nursing academic offerings, Limestone has launched a new Masters’ program in Health Informatics which offers students a multi-disciplinary curriculum encouraging both resource-based and experiential learning that will lead to careers in one of the fastest-growing segments of information technology and computer science.

Limestone has always graduated students who know how to use critical-thinking skills effectively, communicate persuasively, and manage their time productively, but to ensure graduates can meet the demands of a dynamic healthcare environment, the University must ensure it has the facilities and equipment to do so.

The relocation of the library to the Hines & Riggins Center has made way for a renovation of the Eastwood building to support Limestone’s Health Professions academic programs, as well as the University’s collaboration with the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM). Construction experts have determined the empty space can be retrofitted to create a cutting-edge nursing school facility but doing so will create a critical need to secure the funding necessary to renovate Eastwood.
